Chukars Come Up Short at Spokane
|
The Spokane River Rats managed to get by the Idaho Falls Chukars, 4-3, at Foxes Ballpark. Spokane pitcher Doug Brocail took player of the game honors. Matt Whisenant got the save, the 11th for him this season. The losing streak for Idaho Falls has now reached 4 games.
In the bottom of the 6th, first baseman Craig Paquette gave Spokane the lead when he hit a 3-run home run. The River Rats had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out home run off Idaho Falls pitcher Neil Weber changed that -- and Spokane went on to win.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Paquette told the Spokane Chronicle. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
