Berg Excels, But Buzz Win
The Omaha Storm Chasers got a superb performance from second baseman Dave Berg. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Salt Lake City. The Buzz won the game, 11-5. In spite of the loss, Berg was named the player of the game. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Hideki Irabu, credited with the win, is now 5-5. He allowed 5 runs on 7 hits in 6.1 innings. The third-place Buzz lifted their record to 41-39.

It could have been a different outcome for Salt Lake City, had it not been for Dave Staton, the 30-year old first baseman . Staton contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put Salt Lake City up, 3-1.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Salt Lake City manager .
