The San Antonio Missions grabbed a 7-3 win over the Spokane River Rats at Texans Stadium. San Antonio first baseman Troy Neel was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once to earn player of the game honors. Bob Scanlan got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Neel had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a full count fastball from Jay Witasick, he banged a grand slam home run to right-center, giving the Missions a 7-3 lead. It was the 21st home run of the year for Neel.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Neel told the San Antonio Citizen. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
