Biggio goes 4-for-4 to Pull Devil Rays to .500
|
The Orlando Devil Rays bested the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-2, at Orlando Citrus Bowl. Craig Biggio was named player of the game. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Joe Johnson, credited with the win, is now 2-2. He allowed 2 runs on 8 hits in 8 innings. The Phillies fall to 10-15 and continue their wobbly start to the 1998 season.
Biggio put Orlando up, 3-0, when he hit a 2-run home run off Glendon Rusch in the bottom of the third. His 4th home run of the season helped the Devil Rays capture the win.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Biggio said after the game.
