Sierra goes 4-for-5 as Brass Squeeze Past Salt Lake City
|
Ruben Sierra was instrumental in his team's 7-6 triumph over the Salt Lake City Buzz. The left fielder was 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the New Orleans Brass. The Buzz, now 41-43, have lost 4 straight.
Sierra had a game-changing single in the top of the ninth. On a 1-0 fastball from Bob Howry, he banged a run-scoring single to right, giving the Brass a 7-6 lead. It was the 109th hit of the year for Sierra.
"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Sierra.
