Sky Sox Topple Chukars with Late Rally
|
The Colorado Springs Sky Sox eked out a 5-4 win versus the Idaho Falls Chukars at Alleycats Ballpark. Nobody did more than left fielder Darryl Strawberry, who captured player of the game honors. Colorado Springs reliever Tim Young was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Rich Hunter took the loss. Jamie Walker converted his 5th save in 5 tries.
Colorado Springs used the timely hitting of Orlando Miller to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sky Sox on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This was a good win," said Miller.
The last-place Chukars have lost 4 consecutive games.
