Rainiers Come Back Late to Clip Sky Sox
|
The Tacoma Rainiers bested the Colorado Springs Sky Sox by a score of 8-5, with catcher Francisco Cabrera getting the main credit. On the day, Cabrera was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times for the Rainiers. The third-place Rainiers improved to 44-48.
It could have been a different outcome for Tacoma, had it not been for Troy Glaus, the 21-year old third baseman . Glaus contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Tacoma up, 7-5.
"We maximized our offense today," said Tacoma skipper . "That makes everyone's life easier."
