Litton Leads Chukars to Win over Brass
|
The Idaho Falls Chukars defeated the New Orleans Brass, 10-4, at Bay Hawks Ballpark. Idaho Falls second baseman Greg Litton was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 4 for 5 with a triple and 3 singles. He scored 4 times and drove in 2. The last-place Chukars lifted their record to 36-55.
With Idaho Falls leading 3-2 in the top of the third, Litton came up to bat against New Orleans pitcher Bob Wickman. Litton hit a sinker to right-center for a 2-run triple. His 7th triple of the season put the Chukars on top, 5-2.
In postgame comments to the Idaho Falls News, Litton said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
