Bates Stars in Rainiers Win
The Tacoma Rainiers beat the New Orleans Brass, 7-3, at Premont Grounds. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Jason Bates, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Tacoma now sits in third place in the Pacific West at 45-49.

Bates had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third to put Tacoma in front, 4-2. With the bases loaded, he hit a bases-clearing triple.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Bates said.
