Kiyohara Excels, But River Rats Win
Kazuhiro Kiyohara did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Omaha Storm Chasers from losing, 7-4, to the Spokane River Rats at Foxes Ballpark. Kiyohara went 3-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Bobby M Jones, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 10 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 8-2. Matt Whisenant earned his 14th save in 17 chances.

The River Rats got a big at-bat from second baseman Jose Lind. For the game, Lind was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Spokane a 3-1 lead.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Lind said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

The losing streak for Omaha has now reached 6 games.
