Fletcher Excels, But Rainiers Win
|
Nashville got a terrific game from third baseman Scott Fletcher. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Tacoma, 8-5. Fletcher was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Tacoma is now riding a 5-game win streak.
In the bottom of the 6th, catcher Bobby Hughes gave Tacoma the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Rainiers had been trailing 5-4, but the two-out single off Nashville pitcher Bryan Ward changed that -- and Tacoma went on to win.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Tacoma skipper .
