Victory Pushes Royals Record to 87-50
|
Kansas City starter Kevin Brown pitched effectively against the Charlotte Knights at Comiskey Park. The right-hander led his team to a 6-5 win. Brown went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 20-5. Rod Beck, credited with the save, is now 15 for 17 in save opportunities.
Jim Thome contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the seventh. With the bases empty, he hit a solo home run. It was one at-bat that helped Kansas City get the win.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Thome said after the game.
The Royals own a robust 87-50 mark.
