Tarantulas Solve Sky Sox, 5-2
|
The Tucson Tarantulas took Colorado Springs pitcher Clint Zavaras's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Ballpark of Louisville. The final score had Tucson getting past the Sky Sox, 5-2. Zavaras went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 1. The winner was Stan Belinda in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Mike Bovee took the loss. An important at-bat for the Tarantulas came in the bottom of the sixth, when catcher Hector Villanueva stroked a bases-clearing double. That made the score 4-2 in favor of Tucson. For the day, Villanueva was 1-4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Tucson skipper .
