Sky Sox Clip Sounds, 4-3
|
Colorado Springs starter Bob Wolcott had a strong outing against the Nashville Sounds at Motors Ballpark. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. The winning pitcher was Wolcott, now 10-9. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. Jamie Walker notched his 16th save in 17 chances.
Brent Brede dealt the Sounds a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and Colorado Springs leading 1-0, Brede, who is tied for 6th in the PAC in triples with 6, hit a 2-2 fastball for a 2-run single.
"I like what I saw today," said Colorado Springs manager , "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
The third-place Sky Sox improved to 59-53.
