Rainiers Prevail, 2-1, Over Naperville
|
Tacoma Rainiers starter Brian Rose turned in a sterling performance against the Naperville Lazy Fisherman, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Rose picked up the win for Tacoma, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 9-10. Tacoma is now 55-62, Naperville 66-51.
The Rainiers beat the Lazy Fisherman in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Shinya Miyamoto produced in the bottom of the eighth. Batting against Naperville pitcher Ryan Hancock, Miyamoto gave his team a 2-1 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Rose said.
