Cincinnati Reds starter Mike Mussina was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Orlando Devil Rays, 4-2. The Devil Rays drop to 12-14 and continue their inconsistent start to the 1998 season.

Cincinnati relied on the hitting of Bobby Higginson to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Reds on top, 2-0. For the game, Higginson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Higginson told the Cincinnati Gazette. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
