Neel scores 3 runs, Missions Move to 75-46
|
Troy Neel was instrumental in his team's 7-4 triumph over the Salt Lake City Buzz. The first baseman was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for the San Antonio Missions. Mauro Gozzo was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 30 of 31 save opportunities. San Antonio improves to 75-46 with the win. They lead their division by 4½ games.
With San Antonio leading 3-0 in the top of the third, Neel hit a fastball from Tim Pugh for a 3-run home run. It was his 25th home run of the season and put the Missions ahead, 6-0.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Neel told the San Antonio Citizen. "It's as simple as that."
