Hartford Takes 3-2 Lead in Division Series
|
With third baseman Lou Collier leading the charge, the Hartford Whalers got a road win over the Milwaukee Otters, 8-4, in Game 5 of the Division Series today. Collier went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times at Stags Ballpark to help Hartford take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-5 series.
Collier delivered in the top of the second inning for Hartford. With the game tied and a runner on 1st, the third baseman hit a run-scoring double to right-center.
"I got everyone together and told them they did great today," Hartford manager told BNN reporters after the game. "But I warned them that even if we make it out of the Division Series, it's only going to get harder."
