Luke Blasts River Rats, Lazy Fisherman Take Game 1, 10-4
The Naperville Lazy Fisherman started the League Championship Series in dominant fashion today, blowing out the host Spokane River Rats at Foxes Ballpark by a score of 10-4 and securing an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Lazy Fisherman first baseman Matt Luke was named player of the game as he went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.

Derrick May had a clutch at-bat with one out in the top of the sixth for the Lazy Fisherman. Coming up with a runner on 2nd and Naperville trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run home run.

"It's true for every sport, I think, but the playoffs are so short that you've just got to get in and get hot," Naperville manager told BNN after the win. "We took care of the first part and now we're just working on the second."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow in Spokane. The scheduled starters for the game are Charles Nagy for the Naperville Lazy Fisherman and Rick Helling for the the Spokane River Rats.
