Padres Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
|
San Diego Padres starter Darryl Kile turned in a sterling performance against the Arizona Diamondbacks, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Robb Nen picked up the save, his 1st. San Diego, now 1-2, is off to a slow start.
The Padres beat the Diamondbacks with some clutch hitting. The home run by Tim Naehring in the bottom of the second is a good example. With two down, Naehring gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he came through with the big hit.
"The old adage is true," said Naehring. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
