Finley goes 4-for-5, Leads Diamondbacks to Win
Arizona right fielder Steve Finley played a vital role in his team's 11-4 triumph over Washington. He was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for Arizona. Floyd Youmans was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. Eddie Guardado earned his 2nd save in 3 tries.

The Diamondbacks got a big at-bat from catcher Sandy Alomar Jr.. For the game, Alomar Jr. went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Arizona a 3-2 lead.
