St. Louis played host to Boston at the friendly confines of Busch Stadium.

The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Boston Red Sox, 9-0, at Busch Stadium. Preston Wilson was recognized as player of the game for his performance. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The 23-year old center fielder was a menace to Boston all day. Losses have been few and far between for the Red Sox so far this season. Their record drops to 3-1.

Wilson had a critical at-bat in the bottom of the fourth for St. Louis, coming through with a 2-run home run to put St. Louis in front, 3-0.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said St. Louis manager Adam Rabel.
