Montreal Makes It 6 Straight with 4-3 Win

The Montreal Expos wiggled past the New York Mets, 4-3, at Olympic Stadium. Montreal pitcher Pedro Martinez earned player of the game honors. The Expos, now 19-17, have won 6 in a row.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Sean Casey came to bat in the bottom of the 12th. Facing New York pitcher Mike Sirotka, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Montreal on top, 4-3.
"This joint was rocking," said Martinez.
