Washington pitcher Kevin Millwood did his part in helping his team beat the New York Mets, 3-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Millwood, now 4-3, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs. Troy Percival closed it out for his 13th save.

With one out in the bottom of the second, Geoff Jenkins put Washington in front, 2-0, with a 2-run double. The Senators went on to win the ballgame.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Jenkins told the Washington Citizen.

Washington is now 27-12, 2½ games up in the United League East Division.
