Multi-HR Game for Ibanez in 6-1 Win
|
The Cleveland Spiders stymied the Charlotte Knights, 6-1, at Comiskey Park. Raul Ibanez, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for Cleveland. Steve Karsay finished to wrap up his 3rd save. Even with the win, the Spiders have a dismal 14-30 record.
Ibanez had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the first, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Spiders went on to win.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Spiders manager . "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
