The Milwaukee Creams beat the Cincinnati Reds, 3-2 at Milwaukee County Stadium, in part due to first baseman Carlos Delgado, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 2-2 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Todd Van Poppel, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Reds to 2 earned runs on 6 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 3. The Creams keep rolling, raising their record to 4-1.

Delgado came through with some timely hitting for Milwaukee. With the score 0-0 in the bottom of the third and two down, Delgado hit a 2-2 fastball for a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season made it 3-0, Milwaukee.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Delgado told reporters after the game.
