Delgado goes 3-for-4 to Power Creams Offense
|
The exploits of first baseman Carlos Delgado, who finished 2nd in the FL in extra base hits with 90 last year, helped the Milwaukee Creams defeat the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-2. Delgado went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Milwaukee is now 20-25, Philadelphia 20-26.
It could have been a different outcome for Milwaukee, had it not been for Mike Greenwell, the 1997 UL batting champion . Greenwell contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Milwaukee up, 2-1.
"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Greenwell told the Milwaukee Herald. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
