Mets Score Late, Top Angels, 6-4
The Mets grabbed a win, 6-4, at Kingdome, overcoming a fine effort from Las Vegas pitcher Rolando Arrojo. Arrojo went 8 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. The 4th-place Mets have won 5 in a row.

New York used the timely hitting of Bill Haselman to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mets on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Haselman.
