Wilson Helps St. Louis Outscore Cleveland
St. Louis and Cleveland put this game in the books despite some rain.

The St. Louis Cardinals bested the Cleveland Spiders by a score of 20-13, with center fielder Preston Wilson getting the main credit. On the day, Wilson belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 7 for the Cardinals. St. Louis reliever Francisco Cordova picked up the win, bumping his record to 4-1. Trey Moore was collared with the loss.

Royce Clayton had a nice at-bat for the Cardinals with one out in the bottom of the fourth. With the bases loaded, the shortstop hit a run-scoring single, which would prove important in the St. Louis win.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Wilson told the St. Louis Daily News. "It's as simple as that."

With the win, St. Louis has a record of 23-29. Cleveland falls to 17-35.
