Orioles Prevail, 8-6, Over Colorado
|
Colorado first baseman Todd Helton had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Helton was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, even as Baltimore beat the Rockies, 8-6. Helton was named the player of the game despite the loss. Bryan Hickerson, credited with the win, is now 2-3. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. Even with the win, the Orioles have a dismal 10-43 record.
Doug Mirabelli, the Baltimore catcher, contributed a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to make the score 7-4, Orioles. For the game, Mirabelli was 1 for 5 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Mirabelli, "but we got it done."
