Royals Trounce Phillies, 10-2
Roberto Alomar was instrumental in his team's 10-2 triumph over the Philadelphia Phillies. The second baseman was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Kansas City Royals. Kansas City leads the Federal League Central Division by 3 games.

Kansas City used the bat of Phil Plantier to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Royals ahead, 6-2. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"I had some good swings out there," said Alomar.
