Cincinnati turned a good effort from starter Joey Hamilton into a win over the Milwaukee Creams at Milwaukee County Stadium. The final score was 5-2. In 8 innings, Hamilton surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Arthur Rhodes nailed down his 1st save.

It could have been a different outcome for Cincinnati, had it not been for Bobby Higginson, the 27-year old left fielder . Higginson contributed a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put Cincinnati up, 1-0.

"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Higginson told the Cincinnati Gazette. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."

Cincinnati, now 2-3, is off to a slow start.
