Mets Jolt Orioles with Late Rally
Chris Brown had a good game, but he could not keep the Baltimore Orioles from falling, 8-6, to the New York Mets at Memorial Stadium. The Baltimore third baseman went 3 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 in the loss. Baltimore has now lost 5 in a row.

The Orioles had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Mets going into the top of the eighth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Bret Boone came to the plate. Boone hit a 3-run home run on a 0-2 fastball from Baltimore hurler T J Mathews. It was Boone's 10th home run of the year.

Boone told a New York Gazette reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
