The Philadelphia Phillies picked up a win at Joe Robbie Stadium, knocking off the Florida Marlins, 3-2. One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd in the top of the first inning. Facing Florida hurler Scott Sanders, Gabe Kapler, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1997 draft, hit a run-scoring single. The Phillies went on to win.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Kapler said.
