Multi-HR Day for Giambi as Knights Overpower Creams, 15-3
The Charlotte Knights beat the Milwaukee Creams, 15-3, at Milwaukee County Stadium. Charlotte designated hitter Jason Giambi earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The winner was David Wells, who threw 121 pitches over 8.1 innings. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits. The first-place Knights have won 7 straight games.

With Charlotte leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Giambi hit a fastball from Phil Leftwich for a 2-run home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Knights ahead, 3-0.
