Diamondbacks Turn Back Rockies, 3-2
|
Arizona Diamondbacks starter Steve Trachsel was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Colorado Rockies, 3-2. Arizona reliever Eddie Guardado got the win, raising his record to 5-0. Jesus Sanchez was tagged with the loss. Arizona, now 33-27, holds third place in the United League West Division.
Moises Alou, who finished 4th in the UL in batting average with .290 last year, chipped in for Arizona with a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Trachsel.
