The Philadelphia Phillies got a superb performance from first baseman Derrek Lee, but the St. Louis Cardinals still won the game, 7-4. Lee was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Braden Looper, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities. St. Louis has now won 3 in a row.

The Cardinals got a big at-bat from right fielder Karim Garcia. For the game, Garcia was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 11th double of the season gave St. Louis a 2-1 lead.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Garcia told the St. Louis Daily News.
