Knights Clip Reds, 6-5
|
The Charlotte Knights picked up a win at Comiskey Park, knocking off the Cincinnati Reds, 6-5. On the mound for Charlotte was right-hander Scott Bankhead, who played a pivotal role in the win. Bankhead went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 7. His record improves to 8-1. Charlotte goes to 42-21. The win puts them 2 games up in their division.
Chuck Knoblauch, who finished 4th in the UL in stolen bases with 54 in 1994, aided the Charlotte cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first. For the game, the second baseman was 1-3 with a double and a walk.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Knoblauch told the Charlotte Bulletin.
