The Reds had to overcome a good performance from Minnesota pitcher Pedro Astacio to claim a 2-1 win at Metrodome. Astacio went 9 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Brad Radke got the win, improving to 9-1. He worked 8 innings, giving up 1 run on 8 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Arthur Rhodes, credited with the save, is now 12 for 14 in save opportunities.

Cincinnati used the bat of Paul O'Neill to get the win. The pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Reds ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it did its damage.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Minnesota manager Darren Fischbach.

The Reds bumped their record to 38-25 with this latest triumph.
