Victory Pushes Knights Record to 44-23
|
The Charlotte Knights reigned over the Kansas City Royals in damp conditions at Royals Stadium.
The Charlotte Knights downed the Kansas City Royals, 7-3, at Royals Stadium. The Knights were led by Barry Bonds, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The Knights have an impressive 44-23 record.
Charlotte used the clutch hitting of Carl Everett to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to give the Knights the lead, 2-0. For the game, Everett had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"Winning is contagious," said Everett. "We're looking forward to the next game."
