Mets Walk It Off for 42nd Win of Season
|
New York got an elite performance from starting pitcher Takehiro Ishii in taking a 2-1 decision over the Washington Senators. The Mets move to 42-27 with the win, while the Senators drop to 45-25.
When he came to bat in the bottom of the ninth, B.J. Surhoff had a chance to end it. Washington pitcher Dan Plesac had other ideas. But with one out, Surhoff hit a walk-off run-scoring single. The Mets had the win.
"This place was rockin'," said Surhoff.
