Knights Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
Charlotte starter Scott Bankhead put a stranglehold on the Orlando offense. The right-hander had complete command of his sinker in leading the Knights to a 2-1 win. Bankhead went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-0. Charlotte, now 6-2, has played well in the early going.
Tony Batista, the 11th overall pick in the 1995 draft, aided the Charlotte cause with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman was 1 for 4 with a home run.
"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Bankhead told the Charlotte Bulletin. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
