Spiders Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
Fans at Milwaukee County Stadium were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Milwaukee Creams take on the Cleveland Spiders.

Cleveland starter Juan Nieves pitched effectively against the Milwaukee Creams at Milwaukee County Stadium. The left-hander led his team to a 7-3 win. In 5 innings, Nieves surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 3. He allowed 3 runs.

It could have been a different outcome for Cleveland, had it not been for Todd Hundley, the 28-year old catcher . Hundley contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put Cleveland up, 3-2.

"Juan was throwing free and easy," said Cleveland manager .
