White Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Florida in Walk-Off Win
Fans at Joe Robbie Stadium were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Florida Marlins take on the Chicago Cubs.

The Marlins had to overcome a fine performance from Chicago pitcher Mike Hampton to grab a 6-3 win at Joe Robbie Stadium. Hampton allowed 2 earned runs over 8 innings. Billy Wagner picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-3. Alberto Reyes was tagged with the loss.

Rondell White swatted a 3-run home run for Florida in the bottom of the tenth. The right fielder went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and batted in 3.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Florida manager Stephen Ginter.

Chicago has now lost 4 in a row.
