Mets Lose to Rockies, 11-7
The Colorado Rockies downed the New York Mets, 11-7, at Shea Stadium. The Rockies were led by Mark McGwire, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times. The Rockies now own a record of 38-37.

Colorado used the timely hitting of Adrian Beltre to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Rockies on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Beltre.
