Phillies Bang Out 8-4 Win Versus Minnesota
Conditions were not ideal but Philadelphia and Minnesota were able to put their game in the books.

Starting pitcher Mark Leiter pitched well enough to help the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Minnesota Twins by the score of 8-4. The 4th-place Phillies now have a win-loss record of 35-44.

Jose Canseco, who finished 2nd in the UL in slugging percentage with .539 in 1991, aided the Philadelphia cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-4. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Leiter.
