Diamondbacks Raise Rally Flag, Beat Washington, 4-3
The Arizona Diamondbacks faced a tough opponent in Washington pitcher Kevin Millwood, but did just enough to pull out the victory at RFK Stadium by a final score of 4-3. Millwood went 8.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Arizona has a 4-game win streak, while Washington has lost 3 in a row.

Arizona used the timely hitting of Moises Alou to capture the win. The left fielder socked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Diamondbacks ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Washington manager Alexander Cumana.
