Cardinals Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Twins
|
The St. Louis Cardinals trumped the Minnesota Twins, 7-5, at Busch Stadium. St. Louis left fielder Preston Wilson was named player of the game for his performance. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Cardinals.
One of the biggest contributors for St. Louis was designated hitter Mo Vaughn. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, Vaughn got a 1-0 sinker and hit a 3-run home run. That put the Cardinals on top, 7-2.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Vaughn told the St. Louis Daily News. "It's as simple as that."
