Baltimore Decked by Sosa, Mets
The 1998 season is getting ugly for Baltimore.

The New York Mets stopped the Baltimore Orioles, 8-3, at Memorial Stadium. The Mets got a big game from Sammy Sosa, who went 3-5 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. New York has a 6-game win streak, while Baltimore has lost 3 in a row.

New York used the timely hitting of Matt Walbeck to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mets on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said New York manager Michael Kritikos.
