Today was Justin Thompson's turn in the rotation for the Kansas City Royals and he made the most of it, shutting out the Philadelphia Phillies on 1 hit.

The 25-year-old left-hander led the Royals to an easy 6-0 victory, allowing 1 walk and tallying 12 strikeouts.

"I hope we miss him next time," Philadelphia manager Tigerr Wolfe said. "Thompson certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
